Base Camp, or more formally, Essentials for Instruction in Multiple Modalities (EIMM), emerged in Spring 2020 as a way to support faculty as the teaching and learning environment changed due to the pandemic. The college's administration charged the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment with developing a 4-day, remotely delivered training that would provide all faculty with the basic elements for success, no matter what the instructional modality.
